Booking & Cancellation Policy
Āio Sauna is a New Zealand owned and operated business. The following terms and conditions policies follow the requirements of the New Zealand Consumer Guarantees Act 1993. All bookings are covered by New Zealand Law. All prices listed on this website are in NZ dollars and include GST.
Payment Gateway
All payments via the website are processed securely using Stripe payments.
Booking Confirmation
All bookings must be made online or through our team. You will receive a confirmation email with session details, directions, and what to bring.
Cancellations & Refunds
We understand that plans can change. Our cancellation policy helps us manage limited session availability, particularly for private experiences.
Cancellations more than 48 hours before your session:
You may receive a full refund or reschedule at no cost.Cancellations 24–48 hours before your session:
You may reschedule once without charge. Refunds are not available within this window.Cancellations within 24 hours or no-shows:
The full booking fee will apply. No refunds or reschedules are available.Late Arrivals:
Experiences cannot be extended beyond their scheduled time. Late arrivals may reduce your experience time, but the full fee will still apply.
Rescheduling
You may reschedule your booking once, free of charge, if made 24+ hours before your session. Additional reschedules or short-notice changes may incur a fee.
Weather Disruptions
Our experiences operate in most weather conditions.
If we need to cancel due to extreme weather (e.g., high winds, storm activity), you will be offered a full refund or free reschedule.
Health & Safety Policy
Guest Responsibility
Guests participate at their own risk. By booking an experience, you acknowledge that sauna use and cold-water immersion involve heat and cold exposure that may not be suitable for everyone.
Please avoid the sauna and cold plunge if you:
Are pregnant (unless cleared by your doctor)
Have heart conditions or cardiovascular issues
Have uncontrolled high or low blood pressure
Are under the influence of drugs or alcohol
Have any medical condition that could be affected by heat or cold
When in doubt, seek medical advice before attending.
Age Requirements
Guests must be 16 years or older, unless attending a designated family-friendly session.
Hydration & Safety
Drink plenty of water before and after your visit
Take breaks as needed
Exit immediately if you feel lightheaded, dizzy, or unwell
Follow instructions provided by staff or signage on-site
Conduct Policy
Private Group Conduct
Private bookings include exclusive use of the sauna and cold-plunge area. Please respect the space and keep noise at a level appropriate for a wellness-focused environment.
Capacity Limits
Each private session has a maximum capacity. These limits must be adhered to for safety and comfort.
Shared Group Conduct
Respectful Use
Shared experiences are designed for communal wellbeing. We ask all guests to:
Maintain a calm, respectful atmosphere
Avoid disruptive behaviour
Follow heat and cold rotation guidelines where provided
Clothing
Swimwear is required at all times.
Alcohol & Substance
For your safety and the safety of others:
No alcohol may be consumed before or during your session.
Guests under the influence of alcohol or drugs will be refused entry and no refund will be issued.
Guest Privacy
Respecting the privacy of others is essential, especially during shared sessions.
Photography
Photography is allowed but please be mindful of other guests.
Personal Device Use
Please keep phones on silent and use them sparingly to maintain the tranquillity of the space.
